Founder’s Roles:
Torkwase Green: Developed the idea of creating a new organization to replace the YWCA, applied words to the acronym (created by Valerie Mardi), revised the mission statement, consolidated executive board positions, assigned colors and their meanings, and created the hand-sign. Sydney Whitehead: Carried over her position from the YWCA and became the first president of Females United To Uplift, Reshape, & Educate with Torkwase acting as Vice President. Niemah Rodgers, J’Keyah Irby, Ashley Wiggins, Erin Evans, Shayna Moore, Shakema Cyrus, and Verneshia Grier all played vital parts and did all they could to support the creation and growth of F.U.T.U.R.E. |
